A passing pushbike
messenger stopped, had a brief chat, then cycled away. "Looking
good, Spizz isn't he?" said Joe. Spizz? "Spizzoil, Spizzenergi.
Remember? Where's Captain Kirk? A major post-punk cult figure, now delivering
the capital's urgent packages. It never occurs to me to moan and groan."
says Joe.

SPIZZOIL ROUNDHOUSE
SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES
Spizzoil came on next
and bravely faced the front line of snarling insults thereby gaining
the respect of the rest of the audience. Their short set full
of ear shattering numbers revealed a remarkable new talent, the
charismatic dancer come vocalist let out a series of tortured
vocals complete with high pitched screams. He was in total control
of everybody's eyes and ears, returning for a well deserved encore.

SPIZZOIL ROUNDHOUSE
SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES
Spizzoil ignored the
skinheads
now gathered at the front and
totally refused to be intimidated,
all of which totally impressed the crowd to give them a great
ovation, bringing them back for a repeat performance of the memorable
'6000 Crazy' and the wit which produced "Your spitting's
not hitting" from Spizz himself.

Elevated to grand cult
status, Spizz's live and vinyl offereings can always be guaranteed
to hit a nerve somewhere. This could be monstrous in any sense
of the term.

Never mind the Sex
Pistols reunion this is the real thing. There has never been a
better time or a greater need for a personality like Spizz

Personally I think
Spizz has developed from being a limp joke to the leader and inspiration
of one of the most radical bands around. Spizz's powerful voice
was the only simplifying element. I was rivetted, gripped, transfixed
and I liked it. To me they just got better and better and Soldier,
Soldier was a turn-on partly because I could hardly believe
a band like Spizz would not only acknowledge disco but play it
so well.

Spizz and his pals
have metamorphosed from cosmic jokers into a brilliant, metal
bastard of Blue Oyster Cult. Now simply a new improved formidable
wall of sound that is positively impressive and capable of perpetrating
magnificent anthems like 'Airships' for me the concert's highlight.
